The Role:

 

The Compliance Manager (CM) reports to the National Director of Trade Partner Diversity and is responsible for monitoring and reporting, while managing all workforce compliance on assigned projects and in some cases, minority, women, veteran business enterprise (M/W/VBE) for business utilization. Working closely with the project management team the CM will lead compliance efforts, diversity strategies and initiatives to drive results and increase diverse participation across assigned projects. In collaboration with community partners, pre-apprenticeship programs, local unions, the CM will be a liaison to support the developing pipeline and workforce. The CM will utilize robust data platforms to track project metrics and diversity participation.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage compliance functions that include but not limited to monitoring and reporting workforce requirements on assigned projects for project life cycle.
  • Manage communication with all subcontractors, partners, and clients on assigned projects.
  • Manage relationships with project management team(s), provide support and guidance on compliance and reporting procedures.
  • Utilize internal database, such as LCP Tracker and Salesforce to track workforce of subcontractors on assigned projects and M/W/VBE participation.
  • Analyze project data to interpret project performance and implement actionable steps to resolution when a project does not meet compliance requirement.
  • Collaborate with community partners to create pathways for opportunities on assigned projects; work with the Boston Jobs Residency Policy (BRJP) jobs coordinator.
  • Support Trade Partner Diversity team (TPD) diversity initiatives, such as, BWU@S and others.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project related outreach events to support project outcomes.
  • Represent Suffolk at external events, conferences, speaking engagements, and other forums to increase awareness and educate stakeholders of Suffolk’s commitments to diversity.
  • Actively engage with local organizations that support disadvantaged groups, individuals and minority and women-owned businesses enterprises.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years related experience
  • Knowledge of construction industry, including experience with the Boston Residents Jobs Policy, Boston Employment Commission, Commonwealth of Massachusetts compliance requirements, prevailing wage, and certified payroll
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with high efficiency to deliver first class service to our clients
  • Ability to multi-task on complex projects with strong sense of urgency and initiative
  • Ability to travel to various project sites throughout Boston and surrounding cities
  • Reliable, highly self-motivated, flexible, and well organized.
  • Demonstrated commitment toward diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Experience with CRM platforms, such as LCP Tracker and Salesforce, preferred
  • Federal compliance, a plus, but not required.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
