The Role:
The Compliance [Lead/Specialist] reports to the National Director of Trade Partner Diversity and is responsible for monitoring, reporting, and managing workforce compliance on assigned projects, including minority, women, and veteran business enterprise (M/W/VBE) participation where applicable. Working closely with project management teams and the Trade Partner Diversity team, this role leads project-level compliance efforts and supports diversity strategies that drive results and increase underrepresented participation. In partnership with community organizations, pre-apprenticeship programs, and local unions, the Compliance [Lead/Specialist] serves as a liaison to strengthen workforce pipelines and create pathways for diverse talent. Leveraging Suffolk’s compliance platforms, the role tracks project metrics, ensures accurate reporting, and advances accountability on all assigned projects.
Execute compliance functions on assigned projects, ensuring adherence to workforce and trade partner diversity requirements throughout the project life cycle.
Monitor and report project-specific workforce participation, M/W/VBE utilization, and compliance outcomes to the National Director of Trade Partner Diversity using systems such as LCPtracker and Salesforce.
Serve as the point of contact for subcontractors, project teams, and clients on compliance requirements, providing day-to-day support and guidance.
Partner with project management teams to track performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend corrective actions when compliance goals are at risk.
Coordinate project-related outreach activities, including BRJP (Boston Residents Jobs Policy) collaboration, workforce pathways, and subcontractor engagement events in collaboration with the Trade Partner Diversity Regional Outreach Manager.
Represent Suffolk at community-level events, trade fairs, and workforce development forums to promote project opportunities and strengthen partnerships with local organizations as needed by the Trade Partner Diversity team.
Support the Trade Partner Diversity team in delivering initiatives such as Build With Us within the Boston region and other diversity programs that enhance project outcomes.
Build and maintain relationships with community groups, advocacy organizations, and local networks to expand opportunities for underrepresented businesses and workers in collaboration with the Trade Partner Diversity Regional Outreach Manager.
2-3 years related experience
Knowledge of construction industry, including experience with the Boston Residents Jobs Policy, Boston Employment Commission, Commonwealth of Massachusetts compliance requirements, prevailing wage, and certified payroll
Excellent problem-solving skills, with high efficiency to deliver first class service to our clients
Ability to multi-task on complex projects with strong sense of urgency and initiative
Ability to travel to various project sites throughout Boston and surrounding cities
Reliable, highly self-motivated, flexible, and well organized.
Demonstrated commitment toward diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Experience with CRM platforms, such as LCP Tracker and Salesforce, preferred
Federal compliance, a plus, but not required.
