Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate green building certification processes such as LEED, Passive House, and Living Building Challenge, ensuring compliance and successful project certification
  • Provide technical guidance on energy efficiency, material sustainability, and life cycle assessment (LCA) to support design and construction teams.
  • Perform constructability reviews focused on green certification gaps, building performance optimization, and sustainable material procurement.
  • Work with construction operations teams to streamline green building certification process.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to integrate sustainability strategies from concept through construction.
  • Engage with clients to communicate sustainability objectives and project achievements.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and presentations to communicate technical sustainability findings to diverse audiences, including clients and internal teams.
  • Set up and manage sustainability documentation for projects, including templates, plans, and tracking systems to ensure smooth execution.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively while coordinating with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of analysis and project delivery standards, to ensure a high quality of work is consistently delivered by the team.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in building science, architectural engineering, environmental design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability consulting, engineering, or green building certification management.
  • Working knowledge of sustainability benchmarking systems, including LEED, Passive House, and Living Building Challenge.
  • LEED AP, Phius Certified Consultant, or similar professional accreditation preferred.
  • Ability to read, review, and evaluate Architectural and Engineering drawings and visualize three-dimensional models
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with senior management, peers, and external stakeholders to drive sustainability initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent technical and business writing skills, with the ability to clearly communicate sustainability concepts.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with design tools such as Revit and AutoCAD
  • Experience with energy modeling (e.g., IES VE, eQuest, EnergyPlus) is a plus.
  • Experience with including Passive House Planning Package (PHPP), WUFI Passive, and METr is a plus.
  • Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD), parametric modeling (e.g., Grasshopper), and data visualization tools is a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.
