About the Role:

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for managing highly cross-functional projects throughout the Suffolk Project Life Cycle (SPLC). The PM must have the ability to assess resource gaps and acquire resources from cross-functional leadership. The PM will provide transparent communication on project status and risks, and report back to the Senior Director of Strategic Project Management Office (SPMO). The position resides in the Strategy Department and serves as the liaison between the business, IT, and other cross-functional teams. The PM should have the ability to guide and collaborate with various critical roles in the project including Business Lead, Business Analyst, Product Owner, Workstream Leads, etc. The PM will have the ability to report on the project at all levels of the organization.


  • Ensure projects are managed following Project Management & PMO best practices.
  • Support Senior Project Managers and coach PMs/Project Analysts.
  • Be responsible for executing multiple workstreams within medium-large complex projects.
  • Have proficiency in meeting management.
  • Develop the Business Project Plan, from kick off to operationalization.
  • Report project status to the PMO and project key stakeholders.
  • Escalate needs and roadblocks to Senior Director of SPMO and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify project risks and remediation plans.
  • Facilitate project status meetings and motivate project team subject matter experts.
  • Maintain stakeholder alignment with the SPMO process. Keep stakeholders focused on project objectives.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities on behalf of the SPMO team.
  • Ensure projects are managed to delivery dates and works with Project Managers to mitigate timeline risks.



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.



  • 3+ years of project management experience working on a variety of project types (IT, Finance, Marketing, Legal, HR, Risk, etc.).
  • Previous PMO experience.
  • Management experience/ Experience managing project managers and other stakeholders, both directly and indirectly.
  • Experience working with a portfolio of several projects preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed individual and project delivery objectives.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.


Knowledge Requirements:

  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively build and extend relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize competing priorities and multi-task a variety of requests simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and active listening skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record in managing strategy and delivery
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and change management
  • Ability to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently
  • Ability to manage relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to drive results through effective leadership and coaching skills
  • Knowledge in consulting basics and business analysis
  • Self-driven, highly organized, and very effective time management skills
  • Getting the job done attitude!


Preferred, Not Required:

  • Knowledge of Lean and Agile practices
  • Vendor management experience

The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.
