The Role

This role, reporting to the Senior Director of Learning and Organizational Capability, will lead the implementation of the learning strategy for Suffolk’s key operational roles (Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, etc). Working closely and collaboratively with People & Culture colleagues, as well as operational leaders from across the company, the role will be responsible for modernizing and enhancing the effectiveness of our existing operational learning solutions, or designing and developing role-based learning solutions, and ultimately for building a learning culture that enables operational excellence. This position will require a combination of big-picture strategic thinking and roll-up-your-sleeves tactical execution.

Here's your chance to play a critical role in a real transformation - not just a buzzword, an honest-to-goodness evolution of the way our company operates. Even in the face of a global pandemic, Suffolk is growing and transforming, and our leadership recognizes the opportunity to modernize our people practices to sustain and propel this growth. In the last two years, the Learning & Organizational Capability team has grown from one employee to a team of seven. We have standardized all of our construction role descriptions, documented career paths, instituted an annual skill inventory to support professional development, built an Operational Excellence Academy for all new construction new hires, built virtual reality training for our front-line employees, launched a modern learning platform (Fuse Next Gen Learning Experience) to house video-based on-demand learning and enable user-generated content, contracted with LinkedIn Learning to provide premium content, and began hosting off-sites for our 14 national COOs. Still on the horizon are plans for building a PX Academy, ongoing COO Off-sites, creating "project team mobilization" training packets, and so much more. We can't wait to have you join the team and help us decide how to make an impact!
