Infrastructure Services encompasses a variety of technical areas that focus on IT Governance, Service Management and Delivery, and Technology Oversight. This group is accountable for the delivery of all technology infrastructure services including but not limited to Cloud and SaaS, Data Centers, Networks, Servers/Storage, Desktops, Telephony and Security services. Within Infrastructure Services, the Core Infrastructure team supports all aspects of the Cloud and virtual server and storage environment and the associated technologies for Suffolk and our customers nationally.
As a member of the Core Infrastructure Services Team, the Infrastructure Engineer or Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for effective architecture/design, procurement, provisioning, deployment, configuration, operation, maintenance and capacity planning of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. Additionally, the individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards, enabling staff and business units. Acts as a resource and an escalation point for Support Desk personnel fielding incident requests and providing resolution and root cause analysis.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
