    The Work Acquisition/Marketing Manager is responsible for applying creative and strategic insight to drive the efforts to position Suffolk as the builder of choice. Works closely with operations, estimating, leadership, and business development teams to develop winning materials that communicate a clearly defined value proposition while supporting the Build Smart brand.

    Responsibilities

    • Participates in early strategy meetings and leads kick-off meetings to ensure identification and development of win strategy and value proposition
    • Leads marketing efforts on complex and high-profile opportunities and delivers best-in-class RFX responses and interviews by driving strategy and a clearly defined client/project centric value proposition
    • Leads specific client opportunity interview preparation meetings, provides coaching of interview team members and develops supporting presentation materials
    • Works closely with marketing colleagues and coordinates with operations, estimating, leadership, and business development teams to manage timelines for production and packaging of final submissions, handouts, agendas, boards, presentations
    • Drives internal debrief meetings to help identify lessons learned around areas of excellence and shortcomings to ensure continuous improvement
    • Manages and prioritizes multiple concurrent assignments, working in close collaboration with other members on the team to ensure timely production and delivery of materials that communicate clearly defined messages, quality, and branding
    • Manages project photography and project team debrief interviews on completed projects
    • Contributes to development and updates/enhancements to marketing materials, such as capability narratives, resumes, project profiles, as needed
    • Contributes to identifying and implementing best practices and solutions to streamline processes
    • Collaborates with Corporate Marketing on communication, branding, PR, and general marketing initiatives (award submittals, collateral/brochures, advertising, social media, announcements, newsletter, blog, etc.) as needed
    • Contributes to internal events and sponsorships (town hall and corporate meetings, trade shows/conferences, etc.) as needed
    • Initiates support for team colleagues and provides training, direction, and mentoring to junior members of the team

    Qualifications

    • BS/BA with concentration in marketing, business, or communications preferred
    • 7+ years in marketing of professional services, preferably the AEC industry
    • Proven ability to initiate work, collaborate, and follow through to meet deadlines
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service
    • Exceptional attention to detail with an emphasis on quality
    • Excellent writing skills and strong design sense with a high level of creativity
    • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
    • Solid technical proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint)
    • Up-to-date with latest industry, sector, and marketing trends is a plus

    Working Conditions

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
