  • Overview

    Reporting to Suffolk's Vice President, Talent Acquisition, this role would support recruitment for both operational and non-operational positions across multiple business lines in our 3 California offices. The role involves, but is not limited to, developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies for current and future roles, screening, interviewing and recommending candidates for hire, influencing, motivating and maintaining the interest of strong candidates, managing “Best in Class” candidate experiences throughout the interview process, and simultaneously maintaining strong relationships with internal hiring managers. This role will be based in the San Francisco office.

    • Source, identify, prescreen and qualify candidates prior to face to face interviews
    • Present an accurate description of the position as well as company history to prospective candidates
    • Real time documentation of candidate records via company Applicant Tracking System (iCims) to maintain current accurate information
    • Educate hiring managers on the recruiting process and the roles involved in the process
    • Build & maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for future opportunities
    • Utilize the Applicant Tracking System, employee referrals, social media and networking to identify potential candidates
    • Summarize weekly, the status of all “open” searches throughout the region
    • Screen/source resumes and qualify candidates; post and maintain positions on various job boards
    • Coordinate the hiring process
    • Work closely with Hiring Managers to develop position profile and to understand overall needs and requirements. (Description, salary, timing, expectations, etc.)
    • Develop and manage strong consultative relationships with hiring managers and candidates
    • Perform competitive research
    • As part of Suffolk's People & Culture team, provide a “best in class” onboarding experience to all new hires


    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 4-7 Years recruiting experience is preferred; basic HR support/service experience strongly preferred
    • High sense of urgency
    • Experience in dealing professionally with outside Executive Search firms
    • Must be extremely detail-oriented
    • Must be a Team Player
    • Strong customer service, communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal and organization skills
    • Sound judgment; knows when to escalate issues as appropriate
    • Previous experience with iCims ATS is a plus

    Working Conditions

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
