  • Overview

    Provides paralegal support to the members of the legal team at Suffolk.

    • Prepare legal documents for review, approval and use by the Legal Team.
    • Perform legal research and prepare legal memoranda for the Legal Team.
    • Provide support to Operations personnel on legal matters.
    • Perform a variety of administrative duties, such as typing reports and legal memos, maintaining legal files, and performing advanced administrative tasks for the Legal Team.
    • Assist Legal Team with discovery requests, responding to subpoenas and managing E-Discovery requests.
    • Manage litigation holds.
    • Provide support and assistance with department initiatives and projects.
    • Identify and analyze critical issues and recommend solutions to problems.
    • Interpret and apply policies and procedures within limits of authority.
    • Maintain company litigation list for each region and assist in responding to requests for proposals.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years related experience;
    • Knowledge of principles and practices of business and managing personnel.
    • Basic legal research methods and techniques (Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc.).
    • Computer applications used in general office settings, including word processing, spreadsheet, database management, PowerPoint, email and internet search engines. E-discovery experience is a plus.
    • Basic Math and standard English grammar and usage.
    • Construction experience helpful, but not necessary and/or required. Departmental experience necessary.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

    Working Conditions

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
