    The Marketing and Work Acquisition Manager is responsible for applying creative and strategic insight to drive the efforts to position Suffolk as the builder of choice. Works closely with operations, estimating, leadership, and business development teams to develop winning materials that communicate a clearly defined value proposition while supporting the Build Smart brand. 

     

    The Marketing and Work Acquisition Manager will ideally be based in Suffolk’s Tampa office with approximately 25% travel to other Florida offices.

    Responsibilities

    • Work Acquisition
      • Lead efforts to produce winning responses to RFQ/Ps and participate in interview strategy and develop presentations to secure new work
      • Initiate collaboration with operations/leadership and business development to clearly define value proposition and address specific project and/or client hot-buttons/concerns/challenges in strategic pursuits
      • Prioritize and manage multiple concurrent assignments to deliver materials that communicate clearly defined messages, quality, and branding, while production and delivery deadlines are met
      • Work closely with marketing colleagues and coordinate with operations, estimating, leadership, and business development teams to manage timelines for production and packaging of final submissions, handouts, agendas, boards, presentations
      • Manage “lessons learned” and debrief sessions to collect best practices and areas for continued improvement for work acquisition efforts
      • Create effective section layouts, customize resumes/profiles, confirm team references, generate experience lists, request financial and/or legal information
    • Marketing and Communications
    • Write and produce award submittals to highlight the company’s people, projects and capabilities
    • Manage and/or support internal events as needed (town hall meetings, employee engagement activities, etc.)
    • Manage and/or support external events and sponsorships
    • Partner with Director of Marketing and Corporate Marketing team to support internal and external communication including public relations, social media, advertising, announcements, newsletters, etc.
    • Stay abreast of new and current trends by attending industry programs and representing firm within local A/E/C community, as well as at strategic local business functions and events
    • Initiate support for team members, and manage, mentor, and train junior and/or seasonal team members
    • Infrastructure
      • Manage and/or support development and updates and enhancements to work acquisition materials including resumes, project profiles, narratives, graphics, etc.
      • Manage and/or support coordination of marketing kickoff meetings, photography, and debrief meetings with project teams
      • Manage and/or support updates and maintenance of CRM database
      • Brainstorm and implement strategic solutions to streamline work acquisition and marketing processes

    Qualifications

    • BS/BA with concentration in marketing, business, or communications preferred
    • 5+ years in marketing of professional services or similar field
    • Desire and ability to contribute to a high-performing team focused on collaboration and continuous improvement
    • Proven ability to initiate work, make strategic decisions, and follow through to meet deadlines
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service
    • Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality
    • Excellent writing skills and strong design sense with a high level of creativity
    • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong technical proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint)
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

    Working Conditions

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
