• Vice President - Communication

  • Overview

    The Vice President, Communications will develop, drive and lead a company-wide strategy for internal communications that is aligned with Suffolk’s strategy, culture and values, reinforces the Suffolk brand, and provides a cadence of clear, timely, effective communications.

    • Define and develop an internal communications vision and strategy that will inform, engage and inspire the Suffolk employee base
    • Evaluate and refine the current communications practices; define optimal channel mix for communications (digital, paper, visual, audio and social media)
    • Deliver high-quality, inspiring and well thought through communications
    • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, defining their communication requirements and providing advice, expertise and guidance
    • Proactively look for opportunities to support the business and bring the corporate strategy to life
    • Partner with senior executives to address change management communications and/or issues communications
    • Establish key metrics and feedback mechanisms to measure the impact and effectiveness of communications
    • Work with the marketing & brand and public relations teams to ensure that internal and external outreach activities are synchronized and mutually beneficial
    • Oversee the Internal Communications Manager


    • 10 - 15 years of experience in communications in a complex organization with geographically dispersed employee base
    • Experience with developing and implementing results-driven internal communications strategies that align with business goals and objectives measuring their effectiveness.
    • Proven ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
    • Experience working with internal or external agencies to develop compelling and creative communications

    Working Conditions

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
