2018 Summer Internship Program – People & Culture Department – Boston, MA


Suffolk’s internship program focuses on bringing in the best and brightest top talent from universities across the country who can "think outside the box" and thrive on finding ways to address business challenges. Our Summer Internship program runs for 10-12 weeks and participants will have the opportunity to contribute to the organization’s success.  Though interns work within specific departments, they are able to explore all aspects of the construction management business through challenging project assignments, presentations, mentoring relationships, and networking opportunities. People & Culture (P&C) interns will be passionate about driving dynamic, effective human resources and people solutions that support the company’s growth.  Our interns are smart, quick learners who can anticipate and troubleshoot problems. We are seeking driven, focused and organized candidates that bring desire and passion to the work they do. Our interns are intelligent, collaborative, quick on their feet, and have high emotional intelligence. The perfect candidates will know, understand and be excited about our business, technology, social media, digital and mobile space and the opportunity they’ll have to drive our P&C results.

  • Support one or more functions of the P&C team including: talent acquisition, talent management, learning & development, HR operations & analytics, HR business partnership, employee relations, community and employee engagement and compliance.
  • Partner with P&C colleagues to champion on-going initiatives, projects, reporting & analysis, and training.
  • Participate in Suffolk’s online classes, internship events and networking opportunities.


  • Must have completed a minimum of two years in an accredited four-year college/university degree program (Civil Engineer, Construction Management, Business, and Liberal Arts Degrees will be considered.)
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office skills, with a particular focus on data analytics and Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence supervisors, peers, and external partners.
  • Must demonstrate genuine interest in the construction management industry.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
