Overview

The Construction Operations Analyst plays a pivotal role in Suffolk’s Mission Control model—our transformational, analytics-driven strategy to drive project excellence across cost, schedule and safety. This role combines construction operations, data analytics, and technology to identify emerging project risks, translate data into actionable insights, and support timely intervention across the portfolio. The Analyst will work closely with senior leadership, project teams, functional groups, and the Data team to turn complex project data into clear, practical actions.

This is a high-growth opportunity for someone who understands construction, is curious about data and technology, and wants to directly influence project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance to identify early indicators of project risk across the project lifecycle, from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Analyze cost, schedule, and safety trends to develop performance and predictive insights using project data, benchmarks, and technology tools.
  • Support Mission Control through leading-indicator dashboards, analytics, and executive reporting.
  • Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for Project Managers, Superintendents, and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Data and Operations teams to develop and deploy predictive analytics and construction technology solutions, including Tripwire 2.0, Schedule and Financial Analytics, and other emerging tools.
  • Participate in onsite project reviews and deep dives to connect data-driven insights with field conditions and project execution.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve how Suffolk uses data, analytics, and technology to manage project risk and performance.

FY27-FY28 Key Initiatives You’ll Support

  • Mission Critical Risk & Metrics Development: Partner with Mission Critical leadership and the Data team to develop, validate, and implement metrics that identify early indicators of risk and enable proactive intervention across the data center portfolio.
  • Predictive Analytics & Technology: Collaborate with the Data team to build foundational capabilities for Suffolk’s predictive and prescriptive analytics framework, including dynamic dashboards and enterprise-level reporting.
  • Executive Reporting Modernization: Assess and reimagine Suffolk’s executive reporting portfolio to streamline reporting, improve data flow and insights, and establish a scalable future-state model. Partner with Regional Operations and Data teams to implement the future state, including opportunities to leverage AI for executive insights and action tracking.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Data Analytics, Finance/Accounting, or related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of professional experience, preferably in construction operations, project controls, or data center construction.
  • Construction experience in roles such as Project Engineer, Project Manager, Superintendent, or Project Controls is preferred.
  • Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, and Oracle; strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working Knowledge on SQL, Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear executive-level insights.
  • Strong interest in predictive analytics, AI, construction technology, and data-driven decision-making
  • Willingness to learn and adopt emerging construction technology, including SmartPM, Schedule Validator, ALICE, and Vena.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cross-functional collaboration experience; able to work with national and regional teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with flexibility to work long hours as needed.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.

Compensation Information

Where required by law, pay ranges can be found in Suffolk's job postings. Base Salary for this position is just one component of Suffolk’s total rewards package for employees. Actual salaries may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education and other qualifications.
